§ 2-144. Duties.
The city attorney shall:
(1)
Prosecute all violations of laws and ordinances of the city;
(2)
Attend the meetings of the council when requested by the mayor to do so;
(3)
Give his opinion in writing on all questions relating to the business or government of the city, when requested by the mayor or council to do so;
(4)
Attend trials of criminal cases in the mayor's court when requested by the mayor to do so;
(5)
Prosecute all cases appealed from the mayor's court to the circuit court; and
(6)
Perform such other duties as may be required by the council, by resolution or ordinance.
